National defender Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Savy King underwent heart surgery after his scary in a match for Angel City on Friday evening, the team announced.
King was precipitated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after having undergone a medical problem by playing against the Royals of Utah. Doctors discovered an anomaly in her heart and she underwent surgery on Tuesday.

“On behalf of our whole family, as well as Savy, we were so moved by the love and support of players, staff, fans and the community of angels of the city of Angel, as well as football fans across the country,” King’s family said in a statement. “We are fortunate to share that Savy recovers well and we are impatient to have him soon with us.”
Angel City said King rested and that his “prognosis is excellent”.
The incident occurred in the 74th minute of the match. The medical staff attended King for about 10 minutes before they were stretched from the field and on a cart.
The NWSL said that it would examine policies to see if changes should be made when treating medical emergencies.

The rules indicate that the League “recognizes that emergencies can occur, which makes the start or progression of a not recommended or dangerous game for participants and spectators. Certain categories of events automatically trigger the League office in an assessment of the question of whether the delay or postponement is necessary.”
The authorities took a 12 -minute downtime on the clock and played until the end of the match. Angel City won 2-0.
The Bay FC selected King with choice n ° 2 of North Carolina in the NWSL 2024 NWSL. It appeared in 18 games for the club before it was exchanged in Angel City during the offseason.
