ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court has scheduled the hearing of a review petition filed by PTI founder Chairman Imran Khan against termination of his right of defense in a Rs10 billion defamation suit filed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Ayesha Malik will take up the case on March 6 during the next judicial week. Judges Hashim Kakar and Ishtiaq Ibrahim will be part of the bench.
During the previous hearing, the Supreme Court had stayed the trial and warned the Prime Minister through his lawyer.
Earlier, the Lahore High Court and the Supreme Court upheld the decision to strike out the right of defense of the PTI founder in the Rs 10 billion damages case.
The PTI founder has now filed a review petition challenging the decision to terminate his defense rights.
