Scott Bloomquist Death: NTSB links the report to a plane crash

The death of the plane accident of the Legend of the Scott Bloomquist on track was considered to suicide, according to a report by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) published this week.

Bloomquist, 60, died in a small plane crash in a barn near his home in Mooresburg, Tennessee, August 16, 2024.

The NTSB listed the probable cause of Bloomquist’s death as “intentional flight of the pilot in a building as suicide act”, according to Fox Sports.

Bloomquist’s family published a declaration to Fox Sports as the NTSB report was released.

“Currently, Scott Bloomquist’s family makes no public declaration concerning the plane crash or recent NTSB conclusions,” said Bloomquist’s family. “They focus on mutually support and respectfully demand confidentiality when they sail in this difficult period.

Bloomquist became famous in the 1980s, but his career took off in the 1990s. He notably won the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion in 2009, 2010 and 2016 and was inducted at the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame as a member of his second class in 2002.

He won over 600 victories in his career and won the most victories in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt series with 60.
