Scottie Scheffler ended up in a precarious position after his opening tee fired on the 18th hole in the second round of the Beach Pro-Am Pebble on Friday. But the star golfer has managed an epic backup.
Scheffler pulled his start in the beach but did not see him land. He could have either been taken a penalty fall 40 meters forward from the end of the Tee box, or walk 300 meters or take a chance that he could find his ball.
“I am just (struck) a low traction, I had not driven it very well all day and it was a hard ball today, being mainly out of the left. And I thought in his own way it was like : “Well, I guess we should go up there and look”, because I haven’t seen it, I didn’t see rocks, I knew there was sand there. Look, said Scheffler.

Scheffler had the chance to find his ball, then came the following task: hit the beach on the course and do it on the cliff.
Scheffler just hoped to find grass.
“I think that unpredictability was the most difficult part. I was really trying to take it out on the rocks and wherever I would be quite happy. My ball in the sand,” said Scheffler.
He was able to find grass in the fairway which left him at around 180 meters, but even if he was out of the sand, this blow was not easier.
“I mean, it was a really hard blow. I was between the clubs and I had to climb an iron to 6 to 180 (yards), with the wind that you can obviously see him blow from left there, so That was a pretty difficult blow, just happy to get it on the green, “said Scheffler.

He then had two 40 feet blows to finish the backup with.
“After the TEE Ball, I would certainly have had a peer, so there is no complaint on my part there.”
The peer ended a round of 2 70 on the day.
After the second round, Scheffler was sept-me, tied to the 20th. Sepp Straka led after two laps at -14.
This is the first Scheffler tournament since he suffered a bizarre hand injury during Christmas dinner.

Scheffler said he didn’t feel all the way yet after his first two laps.
“(My game) does good, I limited the errors and I feel like I am not swinging it as well as I could be, so I think there may be a little Rust there, a little timing my swing, but it is good to resume the competition golf and pleasant to be here in Pebble, “said Scheffler.
Scheffler’s injury required a minor surgery, but it is now back in action after one of the most dominant seasons in the history of the PGA Tour.
Scheffler won seven PGA Tour titles, while winning the Masters for the second time in his career. He also represented the United States at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and won a gold medal after a late wave.
