Sonos had a few tumultuous months, all reassembled to what was now clearly a precipitated application of application which led to a terrible experience for many customers and a long and disorderly process of repairing these relationships. He overshadowed the long-term launch of Over-Earau ACE headphones, although the impressive ultra soundbar arc specifications have been carried out.
More recently, CEO Patrick Spence has left, and a new leadership has been inaugurated. Earlier this week, it was announced that Sonos would further reduce its overall workforce, losing 200 employees. However, the new interim CEO Tom Conrad throws a little more light on internal changes – and a large part can be read in a way that comes back in shape.
Although Conrad is repeated quickly that much more work should be done, he looks almost back in the right direction. “I go back to Sonos in a more scrapy and more concentrated company,” said Conrad, who focuses on changing the functioning of Sonos. “I reorganized our product and engineering staff in functional teams for hardware, software, design, quality and operations and far from dedicated commercial units devoted to the categories of individual products. This allows us to bring together straight interfunctional projects which maximize our effectiveness while we evaluate, prioritize and we are constantly focusing on the highest market opportunities, ”said Conrad.
It is an overhaul on a previous structure which clearly did not work in a fluid way, especially with people who mainly worked on individual parts of the company. Most likely just the application or perhaps even more segments, which have not met to improve the entire Sonos ecosystem. It was probably a lack, and we saw some of the potential results materialize, but Conrad and the teams left to Sonos were now reorganized to better look at the brand as a whole.
For example, the application is probably no longer partitioned, a team focused only on it; It could rather be more integrated throughout the range. How can the application work better with the ultra arc while improving interoperability with future products or by creating a new flow to help you group together existing and connected products when new is introduced?
Conrad described the configuration of Sonos as being superimposed on layoffs, which probably made work between the departments and, therefore, on the product ranges. Likewise, emphasizing “the improvement of Sonos’ experience in a place that goes beyond the expectations of all our customers”, he ensures that the company works so as to hit this, or at least to put it in place with this hope.
In the same vein, Conrad also said that even with the updates of the quasi-constant application and other modifications, “our basic experience still needs significant improvement”. And that should certainly bring a little hope to Sonos customers, to long -standing those and restructuring. That a disaster in the application does not happen again.
