The National Assembly was informed on Friday that the Hyderabad-Sukkur Expressway (M-6) project is progressing through multiple financing and partnership agreements, with different sections expected to be completed between 2028 and 2029.
Responding to questions during Question Hour, the Parliamentary Secretary for Communications said: “It is expected that various sections of the project will be completed by 2028-29. »
He said the draft was discussed at the Joint Working Group (JWG) on Communications meeting held on September 3, 2024, and then reviewed at the Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) meeting in Beijing on September 26, 2025.
The secretary said Pakistan had invited Chinese companies to participate in the bidding process for the M-6 and two additional sections planned under the public-private partnership (PPP).
He informed the House that the National Highway Authority (NHA) initially signed a PPP agreement for M-6 in December 2022, which was initially scheduled for completion by December 2025, including six months of financial closure.
