We have kept this position not because we fork innovators to adopt our values, but because we allow entrepreneurs, who hold these values, to build in the United States free from government interference and excessive regulations. They are not republican or democrats – they are American.
This is nowhere more apparent than in cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency allows individuals to appropriate their financial future. It allows economic freedom, ensuring that all Americans – whatever their history – have access to the tools they need to succeed. Crypto has the potential to move the power of centralized institutions which control a large part of our financial system in the hands of the American people.
The power that this technology represents is greater than any part. In this spirit, we have announced the creation of the Congressional Crypto Caucus, a non -partisan group of members of the Congress united by the promise of this technology which aims to work as a block of voting in the Congress.
As we have done together for years, the crypto caucus will bring together members from across the country and through the political spectrum which are unified and engaged in our mission. Together, we will focus on the registration of key policy proposals by the congress and the construction of coalitions within the cryptographic community.
The mission of the Caucus crypto goes beyond a platform to discuss politics. We are committed to providing tangible results for the American people. When important votes or problems arise, our caucus will be ready to act.
As presidents of the Caucus, we will work with our members to advance a political program in principle founded in an understanding of the unique decentralized nature of digital asset technology. We are committed to promoting an economic environment where open, without permission and private innovation can prosper and where centralized control attempts are canceled. Our caucus will promote policies that allow each American the opportunity to participate in the digital economy.
As more and more Americans are accessing the digital economy, we will work to support political initiatives that establish a balance between consumer protection and innovation. Our goal will be to defend transparent and common sense regulations that protect consumers, improve financial literacy and widen access to these advanced financial tools. By reaching this balance, our caucus will help allow millions of Americans to safely access these financial tools, while promoting policies that support innovation in the United States.
For too long, innovators had trouble sailing in the regulatory mines in the United States. As we start our work with this new caucus, we aim to defend a balanced framework which gives legal clarity while promoting an environment where American ingenuity can prosper. We do not call deregulation, but for intelligent regulations – rules that protect consumers without pushing entrepreneurs on which they count abroad.
While countries around the world adopt policies that adopt the promise of cryptographic technology, the United States cannot risk late. We seek to work with the total government approach to the development of digital asset policies to unlock the future of open innovation, without authorization and private in the United States. Our caucus strives to support policies that guarantee that the United States remain the best place in the world to build, invest and innovate in the space of digital assets.
