Security forces kill 10 terrorists in Quetta: IBO

The security forces killed 10 terrorists supported by the Indians during an intelligence operation (IBO) in the Aghbarg hilly region, on the outskirts of Quetta, late Tuesday evening, said officials, News reported.

According to security sources, the operation was launched after credible information indicated the presence of terrorist training in the mountains of the Ghaza Strip. The group would have been linked to prohibited outfits and accused of participation in several past attacks.

When the forces surrounded the region, the terrorists opened fire, triggering a two -hour battle. Ten terrorists were killed, several of which were then identified as suspects in a previous terrorist attack.

Two security personnel have been shot wounds during the exchange and were transferred to a quetta military hospital. Medical officials said their condition was out of danger. No civilian victim has been reported.

The recovered weapons included AK-47 rifles, grenades, rocket launchers, heavy machine guns and a large cache of ammunition. Security officials said the equipment was intended for future attacks.

The bodies of terrorists were moved from the site, with blood samples and fingerprints collected for a more in -depth investigation.

The operation, involving the body front (FC), the Pakistani army and other law enforcement organizations, follows an increase in militant violence in Balutchistan.

The officials said that the area around Aghbarg had been sealed during the raid to prevent escape.

The Balutchistan government has praised the operation as appropriate and successful, while the ISPR has reiterated that the security forces remain determined to eliminate terrorism nationally. Security measures have since been tightened in the province.
