Security forces kill 13 terrorists in two PCIs in KP

Security forces killed 13 terrorists belonging to banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in two separate Intelligence-Based Operations (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram and Bannu districts, army media said on Thursday.

According to a press release from Inter-Services Public Relations, the clashes took place between Tuesday and Wednesday against “Indian proxy Fitna al-Khwarij” — a designation for the TTP.

“On the reported presence of khwarijan intelligence operation was carried out by security forces in Bannu district. During the conduct of the operation, our own troops actually engaged in combat khwarij place and after an intense exchange of fire, eight khwarij have been sent to hell,” the press release said, adding that a separate operation in Kurram led to the elimination of five more terrorists.

The ISPR said sanitization operations were underway to eliminate any further “Indian-sponsored” ones. Kharji” found in the region as part of the “relentless anti-terrorism campaign” under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision, adding that it would continue in full swing to eliminate the “threat of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism” from the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the security forces for successfully carrying out the operations, adding that the security forces were achieving major successes against terrorism under the Azm-e-Istehkam strategy.

“The entire nation stands with the Pakistani armed forces in this war against terrorism,” the Prime Minister said, reaffirming the government’s resolve to completely eliminate all forms of terrorism from the country.

Last week, security forces also eliminated 11 Indian proxy terrorists in two separate IBOs in North Waziristan and Kurram districts. According to the ISPR, the IBOs were carried out following reports of the presence of TTP terrorists.
