Security forces killed 30 terrorists during three separate counter-terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by the Army’s media wing, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat district.

“After the troops actually engaged the terrorists at their location, eighteen Khwarij were killed, while six others were injured,” the statement added.

In another operation in Karak district, security forces engaged militants following intelligence reports. During the ensuing exchange of fire, eight khwarij were neutralized.

The third encounter occurred in the general area of ​​Bagh, Khyber district, where security forces managed to eliminate four Khwarij, including notorious kingpins Aziz Ur Rehman, also known as Qari Ismail, and Mukhlis. Two additional militants were injured in the operation.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were allegedly involved in numerous terrorist activities targeting security forces and innocent civilians in the area.

Security forces vowed to continue their operations to eliminate remaining terrorists in the region, reaffirming their commitment to eradicating terrorism and restoring peace to Pakistan.

In 2024, the Pakistan Army carried out a record 59,775 intelligence-based operations, eliminating 925 terrorists, including 73 high-value targets – the highest number of militants neutralized in five years.
