The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office has released Shia LaBeouf’s photo following his arrest during Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans.
The 39-year-old actor was taken into custody on February 17 and booked on two counts of simple battery after an alleged altercation in the city’s French Quarter.
The incident is believed to have started around 5pm on Monday at the Royal Street Inn & R Bar.
According to Jeffrey Damnit, one of those involved, the confrontation began when LaBeouf began using homophobic slurs inside the bar.
Damn, I said PEOPLE that after the actor was finally moved outside by staff, he began “yelling at everyone” and “lunging at” customers. The situation turned physical when LaBeouf allegedly jumped Damnit and punched a bartender in the face.

A police report later clarified that one of the victims’ noses was likely dislocated during the fight, noting that the individual had to “put his nose back in place” himself.
The report also alleges that LaBeouf “used the word ‘f—-t'” several times during the event.
After being treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, the actor was released on his own recognizance. However, he did not stay away from the festivities for long.
Just hours after he left police custody, videos appeared online showing LaBeouf back on Bourbon Street, dancing among the crowd while apparently waving his release papers.
On Wednesday morning, he broke a month of silence on social networks to publish a brief message on X: “Free me”.
This latest legal issue comes just days after the actor shared a festive selfie wearing Mardi Gras beads, marking a rare return to public life.
LaBeouf has been outspoken in the past about his personal obstacles and his journey to sobriety, but he now faces a new challenge in the courts. His next appearance is currently set for March 19.
