Typically, it’s the oversized, high-end lawn robots for lavish gardens that get all the best features, and the cheaper, compact robots can seem like a bit of an afterthought. But Segway Navimow has released a new compact robot lawn mower that it says will treat small yards with the meticulous attention they deserve.
Of all the lawn robots I saw at CES 2026, it’s the Segway Navimow i2 AWD that really stands out. It’s not the flashiest design – in fact, it’s the most affordable of the brand’s 2026 launches – but it has clever features that allow it to create a perfectly manicured striped lawn, without ever risking damage to your turf.
This robot lawn mower has all-wheel drive – therefore AWD – which is very unusual for a compact robot lawn mower. It only has two main wheels (as is often the case with compact lawn robots), so it won’t climb particularly rocky terrain.
But this means the wheels won’t drag on your lawn when the robot turns. This is especially relevant for tight pivots that you need to create rifling.
To complement the individually controlled main wheels, the smaller stability wheel on the front of the lawn robot has also undergone some design changes. It’s also powered (again, which is unusual) and can rotate 180 degrees to guide the robot around hairpin turns with confidence and precision – and without ever tearing up your grass. The brand calls all this technology “Xero-turn”.
This lawn robot also has a nifty way to maximize battery life. “Adaptive Drive” means it will only use its third (front) wheel when necessary. This can extend battery life by up to 30%.
Other features
Segway Navimow added built-in ESC, which automatically adjusts the robot’s trajectory on slopes to maintain stability. There is also a Traction Control System (TCS) in which wheel torque dynamically adjusts to prevent slipping, which can also damage grass.
While it’s not the most capable off-road option on the market, it can still tackle relatively difficult terrain. It supports slopes up to 45 percent (24 degrees), it can handle steps and thresholds up to 1.6 inches high, and Segway Navimow promises precise mowing on slippery or root-rich ground and even around stony paths.
The Navimow i2 AWD series is available in two variants: the i206 AWD (suitable for land up to 0.15 acres) and the i210 AWD (for up to 0.25 acres). Prices will be $999 and $1,299, respectively.
