On Friday, a PPP delegation met the head of Jeu-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence in Islamabad to discuss the next elections in the Senate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The PPP delegation included the governor of KP, Faisal Karim Kundi, Khurshid Shah and Zahir Shah. The leaders of Jui -F – Akram Khan Durrani, Maulana Lutfur Rehman, Maulana Asad Mehmood, Zahid Durrani and Asjad Mehmood – also attended Reunion.
According to a spokesperson for JUI-F, the meeting focused on the consultation concerning the elections in the Senate in the KP. Addressing the media after the meeting, Khurshid Shah said that the elections in the Senate approached and that the questions previously agreed would be honored.
“Each party has its mandate. We have a relationship with Maulana, which is why we came,” he added.
Governor Kundi said their goal was to get five seats in the KP Senate.
“Maulana will obtain a general seat, and the PPP will obtain a reserved seat. If even a member exceeds the expected count, a voting non-confidence can be initiated,” he added. When a journalist asked if the horse trade would take place again, Kundi said the PPP was trying to prevent any exchange of horses.
When asked if the parties would contest elections like an alliance just as they had disputed the previous elections in the Senate under the PDM, the Governor of the KP said that it was what they were trying to do. “We are trying to go jointly in the elections,” he added.
Commenting on the security situation in the KP, he said that after the release of the Nightfall extremists. He condemned the tragic murder of workers in Balutchistan on Thursday and said that the whole nation should unite to bring peace.
“India is at the origin of acts of terror in Balutchistan. After having faced the militarily defeat, India intensifies terrorism. Afghanistan soil should not be used by Israel and India. If our neighbor allows its land to be used by them, how can we have better relations?”, He added.
