ISLAMABAD:
The Senate will convene on Thursday (today) evening for a crucial session expected to fast-track several amendment bills passed by the National Assembly, while lawmakers will also raise a series of issues of public importance during the session.
According to a 27-point agenda released by the Senate Secretariat, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Interior Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar will present several bills for approval.
The Minister in charge of the Cabinet Division should present a motion requesting the suspension of the notice period required by Standing Order 120 to allow for the immediate consideration of bills approved by the National Assembly.
Several notices of appeal will also be highlighted. Zeeshan Khanzada’s notice of interest and Bushra Anjum Butt’s opinion regarding the increasing prevalence of heart disease linked to the consumption of industrially produced trans fats.
