The High Court of Islamabad asked the responses of the Senate secretary, the federal government and other people on a petition requesting the production order of the Senator PTI Ijaz Chaudhry for the session.
The acting chief of the IHC, Sarfaraz Dogar, heard the senator’s petition. The petitioner argued that he had been arrested under MPO on May 9, 2023, which ended up the prescription of the High Court of Lahore. However, he was arrested again in a false case of May 9. “I languish from Lahore prison, while I have the right to attend the Senate session as a senator,” added the petitioner.
He asked the court to issue its production order for each Senate session and a joint meeting of the Parliament.
The intermediary of the IHC CJ wondered the lawyer for the petitioner Babar Awan if the case presents itself to the court of the court. Awan has referred to Muhammad Khan Junejo and Javed Hashmi Cases, adding that he is the jurisdiction of the IHC.
