The legislators of the upper chamber demanded on Tuesday weapons licenses, which prompted the Minister of the Interior, Mohin Naqvi, to announce that a license of prohibited permit will be issued to all deputies.
The meeting of the interior senatorial committee, chaired by Senator Faisal Saleem, began with prayers for the victims of the Swat tragedy.

In response, Naqvi has announced that each deputy would receive a license, adding that quota allowances would be increased for areas faced with the deterioration of public situations.
He also ordered reimbursements for people who paid license fees during the previous mandate but who have never received them.
During the session, the director general (DG) of immigration and the Mustafa Jamal Qazi passports was criticized by the members of the committee.
Senator Haji Hidayatullah protested against the alleged non -professional behavior of the CEO, saying that Qazi ignores his calls and refuses to act on them, while welcoming others for the same requests.

Interior Minister Naqvi asked the Interior Secretary to examine the issue.
The committee was also informed of the changes proposed to the Pakistani citizenship bill 2025.
DG Qazi explained that the Pakistanis abroad who were previously gave up on Pakistani citizenship to acquire foreign nationality would now be eligible to recover it, in particular those of the countries of which Pakistan has bilateral agreements.
He argued that this decision would help attract investments, philanthropy and expertise in Pakistan.
However, Senator Palwasha has questioned practical advantages, encouraging Qazi to answer: “These people are assets. They gain abroad, invest here and contribute to development and charity in Pakistan.”
