Seven including five children die in the collapse of the Hafizabad roof

At least seven people, including five children, lost their lives in a roof to collapse in the Farooq-e-Azam region in Sukheke Mandi, in the Hafizabad district, in Punjab on Saturday.

Police said the house was used as a tuition center, where a woman and her son taught a group of children when the roof suddenly gave in. The seven individuals – the tutors and five young students – were buried under the rubble and died.

The district police officer (DPO) Atif Nazir reached the accident site and managed the speeding of speeding in the hope of withdrawing the living victims.

The authorities said that an investigation was launched to determine the structural cause of the collapse.

The incident left the local community shaken. The rescue operations continued until evening.
