Shehbaz calls the Islamic working group on Israel

Doha:

On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif firmly condemned the attack “reckless and provocative” of Israel against Doha, calling this a blatant violation of sovereignty and international law of Qatar, and urged immediate global action to hold Israel responsible for war crimes.

Speaking during the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit organized by Qatar, the Prime Minister described the September 9 strike as a “treacherous act” against a fraternal Islamic state and a deliberate attempt to undermine peace efforts.

He called for an urgent and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, as well as the creation of an Arab-Islamic working group to counter Israeli expansionist conceptions. “It was a blatant violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state of Qatar,” he said.

The attack on Israel was “yet another demonstration of its hegemonic ambitions declared,” he added. Even in wartime, he noted that mediators are considered inviolable: “They are the messengers of fragile hope-the hope of maintaining dialogue alive.”

The Prime Minister said that the genocidal campaign of Israel had reduced Gaza to “rubble and ruins” and left indelible scars on humanity. He invoked the fate of the Palestinian children, including a 10-year-old boy named Ameer, who, he said, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers while looking for food, as well as “64,000 of his compatriots”.

Shehbaz stressed that Israel should be held responsible for war crimes and reiterated Pakistan’s support to suspend members of the UN Israel. He urged the United Nations Security Council, under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations, to demand an immediate, unconditional and permanent cease-fire, the release of hostages and the exchange of Palestinian prisoners, as well as guaranteed humanitarian access and the protection of workers, journalists and UN staff.

By reaffirming the long -standing position of Pakistan, he declared that the only just and sustainable solution resided in the creation of an independent state of Palestine on the borders before 1967 with Al Quds Al Sharif as capital. “May history record this moment, when we, the leaders of the Arab-Islamic world, have chosen unity, dignity and courage on silence and inaction,” he concluded.

On the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz also held separate meetings with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar and Chief of Staff of the Syed Asim Asim Asim Munir.

During his meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman, Shehbaz condemned Israel’s action as a deliberate attempt to derail peace efforts in the Middle East. He revealed an appreciation of the leadership of the crown prince in the unification of the Muslim world.

Prime Minister Shehbaz has full diplomatic support from Pakistan to the United Nations Security Council, OIC and other multilateral forums. The two parties reaffirmed their “historical and deep fraternal obligations”.

On this occasion, the Crown Prince said that he was impatiently awaiting the Prime Minister’s next state visit to Riyadh later this week for a full exchange of views of bilateral, regional and global issues.

During his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Shehbaz transmitted the highest conviction by Pakistan of the Israeli aggression, calling it reckless and a blatant violation of international law.

The two leaders expressed their solidarity with Qatar and agreed that Israel should be held responsible. The Prime Minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to expand bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and health.

Later, in the talks with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Shehbaz again condemned Israel’s attack on Doha as a serious violation of the law and an attempt to derail peace. Presence of unshakable leadership of the Jordanian monarch on the Palestinian cause, he agreed to close consultations to mobilize international support for peace and stability in the region.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Doha summit had sent a strong and unified message to the world: that Muslims have held together against “the illegal and reckless attack of Israel” and would continue to put pressure for justice for Palestine.
