Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the training of three specialized committees – the Innovation and Adoption of Digital Payments, the Digital Infrastructure Committee for Public Innovation and the Committee on Government Payments on Monday to promote an economy without species on the country on Movial.
These special sub-commies will present recommendations to facilitate payments between citizens and businesses, aware of digital systems, activate the digital authority of Pakistan, formulate a national digital master plan and rationalize transactions between the government and the private sector.
The Prime Minister presided over a high -level meeting focused on promoting an economy without cash in Pakistan.
He stressed the importance of making digital transactions more affordable and accessible to the public in relation to species, as a means of promoting a system without species.
He also asked that the RAAST digital payment system be established at the federal level as well as all levels of provinces.
“The establishment of a digital transaction system is crucial to bring transparency to the economy,” said the Prime Minister, adding that unprecedented systems are in priority in the economies developed and successful in the world, and that modern technology must be used to implement a robust digital payment infrastructure.
The Prime Minister noted that funds circulating in the banking system can be used to invest in public development projects.
He also directed the transition of all transactions between the public and private sectors to a box without cash.
During the briefing, the Prime Minister was updated on the progress made towards the implementation of a system without species nationally.
It has been shared that attended by more than 40 million users benefit from the RAAST system, and various initiatives are underway to increase this number.
All financial transactions of the federal government are now carried out via the RAAST system, and measures are taken to extend it at the provincial level.
The briefing also stressed that fintech is a key element in this ecosystem.
Pakistan Digital Authority has been established and actively works in the transition from the national economy to a model without species.
He was also informed at the meeting that the Digital Public Infrastructure Committee will operate under the direction of the Federal Ministry of Computer Science, while the Pakistan Director Committee without species was created in the Prime Minister’s secretariat.
