Shilo Sanders does not draw as much attention as his little brother, Shemer, to the recruit of Tampa Bay Buccaneers Minicamp.

But that doesn’t matter as long as he continues to impress his new coaches.

Shilo Sanders signed with the Buccaneers, a team that needs secondary help entering the 2025 season, in the hope of being able to break the alignment of 53 men by week 1. And although the training camp is still in a few months, he did a good job by doing a good first impression in the head coach Todd Bowles.

“Like the rest of the security, he is very intelligent, he is very strong,” said Bowles. “You can hear it (on the ground), make calls and everything, so it has a good understanding of things day 1. There were about three or four that did it. It was one of them, but you have to play games in the pads. This is what it comes down to what to do and then do it regularly and improve constantly every day.”

Sanders also knows how a good impression on the media can work in his favor, because he made sure to shake each of their hands during his availability. Once the presentations are finished, he discussed this opportunity.

“Dude, look where we are,” he said. “Look at all coaches staff. It is a really favorable coache staff. Everyone wants to see everyone do good. Everyone in the team, we all want to be won. It is an excellent environment to prosper.”

Sanders also impressed his new teammates, including the choice of third round Jacob Parrish.

“He is very intelligent,” he said. “He helped me a lot with the adjustments. I am delighted to work with him.”

Being a member of the secondary, Sanders has always been compared to his father of the renowned temple, Deion Sanders, which is only natural. But the 25 -year -old simply wants to work and thanks the Buccaneers for the opportunity to show them that he can help this season.

“They gave me a chance before anyone, so I am eternally grateful to the Buccaneers, and I will just do everything in my power to help this team win,” he said. “That’s all I want.”

Antoine Winfield Jr. is the pro Bowl veteran on the defense of Bowles, so free security is the only probable place for Sanders. However, each good secondary needs depth, and these players are also critical parts in special teams.

Sanders thinks he can separate from the peloton by showing that he can force the reversals.

“Throughout my career, I have always been a guy who removes the ball anyway, form or form,” he said. “The forced escapes, the choices, I’m going to get the ball. This is the point of playing defense. We want to get the ball offensive.”
