Quetta:
On Friday, at least two police officials and three students were injured when a policeman accidentally freed himself in front of the house of the Governor of Balutchistan in the Zhob district, officials said.
Students were slaughtered in the arms and legs while the police underwent minor injuries. They were all transferred to the Hospital of the Zhob district headquarters. Medical Superintendent Abdul Rehman said that students were in a stable state after undergoing surgery and that the police were released shortly after receiving first aid.
The incident occurred around 12 noon, when the students came to meet the governor of Balutchistan, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, to discuss educational issues. The officer holding the rifle was in security service.
According to the police, the dismissal was a consequence of a technical dysfunction or a possible bad getification of the weapon. The rifle died while the students were trying to enter the governor’s house after security checks.
Mandokhail visited the injured students from the hospital and announced that the government would support all medical expenses. He described the incident as “deeply unhappy” and undertook to provide injured students with a complete educational and financial support.
