Should increase for the following 15 days

The prices of gasoline and diesel in Pakistan should increase up to Rs6.60 per liter for the next 15 days, following a continuous rise in global oil prices, according to industry sources.

At the time of the report, the proposed hike includes an increase of 6.60 Rs per liter of petrol and 5.27 Rs per liter in high -speed diesel (HSD).

Conversely, the prices of kerosene and light diesel can see reductions of RS3.74 and RS2.23 per liter, respectively.

The oil and gas regulatory Authority (OGRA) has completed its work on the basis of the latest trends in the world market, and a final summary will be subject to the government by tomorrow.

The oil industry has already shared its calculations with the regulator.

Sources have confirmed that the final decision on price adjustments will be made after approval by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of the Summary of Ogra.

The proposed changes would come into force for the next fifteen as part of the regular government prices review mechanism for petroleum products.

On July 1, the federal government significantly increased petrol and diesel prices for the first half of the month, attributing the rise to the volatility of the world market in the middle of the 12-day Iranian-Israeli conflict.

Essence increased from RS8.36 to RS266.79 per liter, and Diesel at high speed from RS10.39 to RS272.98, on the basis of the recommendation of OGRA.

Pakistan, which imports around 85% of its oil needs, was directly affected by the Middle East crisis.
