- Gaming accessories brand CRKD has just unveiled a new controller
- The CRKD Ult Pro is compatible with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 and is packed with premium features
- Although it offers more, it is cheaper than the official Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller
Gaming accessory maker CRKD, the company behind the award-winning Nitro Deck (which we consider the best Nintendo Switch accessory), has just announced the “ultimate” Nintendo Switch 2 controller, and I would be seriously worried if I were Nintendo.
Designed to take control “to the ultimate level,” the new CRKD Ult Pro is built around customization. It features six remappable inputs, adjustable trigger travel, swappable components and a suite of configuration options, available through the CRKD Companion app.
The Ult Pro allows you to remap any button and store your bindings to profile presets directly on the controller. You can also instantly switch between different trigger settings with a unique trigger toggle system.

Look on it
As you’d expect from CRKD, the Ult Pro features long-lasting Hall effect trigger sensors as well as drift-resistant TMR controllers – high-end components that Nintendo chose not to include. There is also support for rumble and motion control.
In addition to the Nintendo Switch 2, it is compatible with the original Nintendo Switch and PC via the included 2.4 GHz wireless adapter. PC gamers can enable an incredibly fast 1,000Hz polling rate if they also plug it in with a wire, which could make a real difference for nervous fans of competitive titles.
All of these features seem like a huge upgrade over Nintendo’s official Nintendo Switch 2 Pro controller. Despite this, the Ult Pro is somehow cheaper than the official pad, costing just $69.99/£64.99, which is lower than Nintendo’s $84.99/£74.99 offering.
If that wasn’t enough, the Ult Pro even comes with its own charging dock, which also provides a convenient way to display the pad when not in use.
Scheduled to ship in June, three distinct versions are up for pre-order today via the CRKD website. There is a Smoke Black Edition and a Retro Pal Gray Edition with markings on the Switch buttons, as well as a Smoke Black Edition with markings designed for PC.
Will the Ult Pro become the new definitive Nintendo Switch 2 controller? That remains to be seen, but if any company can pull it off, it’s CRKD.
