- The range of first line lines Aizu Prime de Sigma is at the opening T1.3 throughout the range
- AIZU first -format prime numbers promise a superb bokeh and natural image quality at all levels
- AF Cine to come will be the first cinematographic objectives in AF by Sigma
Sigma has introduced two new series of cinematographic objectives, including one – the Aizu Prime line – to the fastest opening in the world of T1.3 on all its focal lengths.
The Complete Aizu Prime line will eventually include 12 large-format lenses covering the 18 mm focal range to 125 mm, which will all be available both in PL Mount and Sony E-Mount. However, the initial launch, in August 2025, will only see eight of them (covering the 25 mm to 75 mm range) published. The prices are always TBC.
Sigma promises an exceptional image quality throughout the range, the optics specifically designed to a natural look with minimum distortion and development breathing. They will also demonstrate coherent characteristics of the balance of colors, contrast and thrusts throughout the range, to help filmmakers easily obtain a more unified aspect.
This maximum opening T1.3, on the other hand, should give users the possibility of reaching a very shallow depth of field and a soft and attractive bokeh. Sigma has shot a short film with the range to demonstrate what they can do (see below).

To watch
Although they are relatively compact and light (all the first eight weights of approximately 3.6 lb / 1.7 kg), the Aizu prime line lenses include an image circle of 46.3 mm in large diameter, which allows them to be used not only with open 3 -35 and full form cameras, but also the open door.
AF and FF arrive later this year
In addition to the Aizu Prime announcement, Sigma has also revealed that it is currently developing two new full zoom objectives for its AF Cine line. These will be the first Sigma Cine objectives to support the autofocus and will be available in L-Mount and Sony E-Mount. Sigma says that they will offer excellent optical performance (derived from the conceptions of two existing sigma art lenses, designed for photography) and an almost silent AF operation.
The first to arrive will be the SIGMA 28-45 mm T2 FF, which should be launched in November 2025. It will be followed by the SIGMA 28-105 mm T3 FF in spring 2026. Pricing is still TBC.
