Karachi: The Sindh government announced a public holiday throughout the province on May 1 (Wednesday) as part of the International Labor Day.
According to a notification issued by the services, the general administration and the coordination service, all the offices of the government and the semi-government would remain closed during the day.
Meanwhile, educational establishments, including schools, colleges and universities, would also remain closed while respecting the holidays.
The world celebrates the Labor Day – also known as May – every year on May 1 to express its solidarity with workers and honor the rights of the working class.
The purpose of celebrating this day is to initiate stages to ensure employment protection to workers and industrial workers against any exploitation.
