Earlier, the Punjab School Education Department officially confirmed the winter vacation schedule in all government and private schools in the province. The announcement follows directives from provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.

In an official notification, the ministry revealed that the winter vacation would begin on December 22, 2025 and continue until January 10, 2026. During this period, all schools remained closed due to the annual winter vacation.

“The program was finalized taking into account the weather conditions and the comfort of students and parents,” Hayat said. This break was intended to provide relief to students from the expected harsh winter conditions.

Academic activities across Punjab were to resume from January 12, 2026, according to the notification. The department has asked all school administrations to ensure full compliance with the published vacation schedule, thereby ensuring a smooth transition when schools reopen.
