Sindh, China forges deeper economic ties

In an important stage towards economic cooperation, a high -level delegation of the Sindh government, led by the Sindh -Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, met with senior executives of Chinese business in Beijing.

Meetings have focused on the main infrastructure and energy projects, paving the way for improved bilateral partnerships. The delegation included Hurjourd Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, provincial minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and Pakistan Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi.

CM discussions with Chinese companies are heading for several key projects designed to stimulate the economic growth of Sindh and Pakistan:

Karachi Circular Railway

The CM said that the KCR project was pending with the Chinese authorities for approval of 2016. He added that work on various BRTs was underway while two, Green and Orange worked, but their real advantage would be taken when KCR, The main feeder of the BRTs would be made operational.

Head Minister Shah has expressed strong optimism as to the potential of these collaborations, saying: “These projects not only represent significant progress for the Sindh, but also a crucial contribution to the National Development Program of Pakistan. Electric transport will considerably improve public services and stimulate economic activity. “”

He also stressed the importance of taking advantage of China’s technological expertise to accelerate the development of the Sindh and create many job opportunities.
