KARACHI:

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday announced the completion of three landmark projects in partnership with Kuwaiti company EnerTech Holding, representing investments worth over $740 million.

Addressing a ceremony at the CM House, Shah said the province had achieved “historic milestones” under its public-private partnership (PPP).

These projects include the Nabisar-Vajihar Water Supply Project worth $215 million, ensuring sustainable water for Thar coal-fired power plants and enabling 1,650 MW of generation, NED Science and Technology Park, Pakistan’s first university technology park under PPP, with an estimated cost of $125 million to promote research, startups and industry-academia collaboration and the Water Treatment Project TP-4 wastewater treatment plant in Karachi, a $400 million initiative to provide industrial-grade treated water and address a long-standing gap in urban waste management.

The CM said these projects reflect Sindh’s commitment to infrastructure, energy security, innovation and environmental sustainability.

Shah noted that despite inflation and global economic pressures, the Nabisar-Vajihar project was completed on time, saving Rs 7 billion. He commended EnerTech CEO Abdullah Al-Mutairi for meeting the planned schedule and commended DIG Sukkur, DIG Larkana and other officials for their role in bringing the PPP to fruition.

Al-Mutairi, speaking at the event, said Sindh’s PPP framework had proven its ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects. He termed Thar water supply as a “game changer” for energy and industrial growth.
