Karachi: The Sindh government has announced prices for vehicles, stores and buildings best decorated in connection with independence day – August 14 – celebrations through the province.
Sindh-chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, addressing a press conference in Karachi, encouraged a broad public participation in the concerts organized in Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur, declaring that Karachi would be at the forefront of independence festivities.
The planned activities include an evening of poetry, a gathering of rickshaws, the formation of a human flag and public competitions.
The CM said that efforts were underway to organize rallys of car and heavy bikes, as well as fairs for women and painting competitions.
The Culture Department was invited to organize singing competitions. CM Shah also mentioned that the Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Mela from August 9 to 11 would reflect the day of the spirit of independence.
He directed the IGP and to dig traffic to finalize the traffic plans, urging citizens to cooperate during the rallies, even if they are embarrassed, “for Pakistan”.
The chief minister said that official invitations would be sent to all political parties to participate in events, and that school hours would not remain assigned. The Department of Education also organizes separate programs.
In addition, he added that on August 5 would be marked by a special event to protest against the repeal of the special Kashmir status, while a major separate event would also be organized for disabled people.
