At least six terrorists were killed and four others injured in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) led by security forces in the district of Bannu de Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the army media wing reported on Friday.
The operation took place on the night of April 23 to 24, following the militant presence reports in the region. “The security forces have carried out an information based on information in the Bannu district on Khwarij’s reported presence,” said inter-service public relations (ISPR) in a statement.
According to the ISPR, an intense fire exchange committed suicide during which six activists were killed and four more injured.
After the operation, an effort of disinfection was launched to ensure that the area was fully eliminated from any remaining threat. “Pakistan security forces are determined to eliminate the threat of country terrorism,” the statement added.
The operation is part of the current national efforts to counter militant activity and maintain stability in the reluctance regions.
