Islamabad: six out of 10 Pakistanis complained that the federal government neglects the provinces and unjustly distributes resources, according to an investigation by the Institute for Public Opinion Research, in which more than 1,000 people from all over the country participated, The news reported Tuesday.
In the survey, 58% of Pakistanis said the federal government neglected the provinces, while 35% disagreed and said the provinces received adequate resources, while 6% did not answer the question.
The greatest number of complaints concerning the fact of not receiving adequate resources from the federal government was filed by 74% of Sindh people, 68% of Balutchistan, 65% of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the lowest number of complaints was filed by 47% of Punjab.
When asked what are the reasons for the nationalist movement, 33% cited political deprivation as the main reason, 21% cited the lack of development, 14% of foreign interference, 10% of state violence, while 6% cited racial discrimination as the main reason.
When asked what the government should do to strengthen Pakistan, 28% of respondents said that the government should strengthen democratic institutions, 19% have favored equitable distribution of resources, 16% called for interference by non -democratic forces, 15% said that respect for human rights and 13% said that regional identity was essential for the stability of Pakistan.
In the survey, 66% of Pakistanis also complained not to obtain real representation; However, 27% disagreed with this, saying that their real representatives were currently in the assemblies, while 7% did not answer this question.
