Security forces neutralized six terrorists in Zhob district while they were trying to infiltrate into Balochistan across the border along Afghanistan, the media wing said on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “on [the] Night of 22/23 January, the movement of a group of Khwarij, who were trying to infiltrate across the Pakistan-Afghan border, was picked up by security forces in Sambaza general area, Zhob district. “
“The own troops effectively engaged and thwarted their infiltration attempt. As a result, six Khwarij were sent to hell. A large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered,” he said. he added.
Pakistan has always demanded the interim Afghan government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border.
“The Afghan interim government should fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by Khwarij to perpetuate acts of terrorism against Pakistan,” he said.
The ISPR said that Pakistan’s security forces remained committed to securing its borders and eliminating the threat of terrorism from the country.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday praised security forces for foiling the infiltration attempt.
In separate messages, the President and the Prime Minister appreciated the bravery of the security forces for killing six terrorists in a timely manner.
“The valiant armed forces of Pakistan are determined to protect the borders of the country at all times. Operations against terrorists will continue until the menace of terrorism is completely eliminated. The entire nation holds its security forces in the war against terrorism,” the president said.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said: “The nation is proud of the security forces. They will continue to thwart the nefarious intentions of the enemies of humanity. The government of Pakistan and the security forces are mobilized to completely eliminate terrorism from the country .”
