DERA ISMAIL KHAN/RAWALPINDI:
Security forces carried out intelligence operations in Panjgur district of Balochistan and Kurram district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), killing six terrorists, including three affiliated with Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan.
According to a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation in Panjgur was carried out based on intelligence reports of the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group.
“During the operation, our own forces effectively attacked the position of the terrorists and after an intense exchange of fire, three Indian-sponsored terrorists were sent to hell,” the new ISPR statement said.
The dead terrorists, the statement said, included local terrorist commander Farooq alias Soro, terrorist Adeel and terrorist Waseem. “Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in many terrorist activities in the region,” the statement added.
“Disinfection operations are being carried out to eliminate any further Indian-sponsored terrorists found in the region. The relentless anti-terrorism campaign being carried out under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, as approved by the Supreme Federal Committee on National Action Plan, by the security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue in full swing to eliminate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country,” he added.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated security forces for the successful operation against Fitna-e-Hindustan terrorists in Panjgur. In separate statements, they said the entire nation stands with the armed forces in the war against terrorism.
President Zardari said operations against Fitna-e-Hindustan were essential for national security. Prime Minister Shehbaz said that with the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, security forces were achieving significant successes in the fight against terrorism.
Meanwhile, in central Kurram, forces carried out an operation after receiving information about the presence of Kharijis, the term used to refer to terrorists belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). During the operation, there was an intense exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists. Thanks to effective action, three terrorists were killed.
Meanwhile, in Barmal tehsil of Lower South Waziristan district, unknown terrorists dropped a bomb using a quadcopter on the house of PTM coordinator Shah Hussain Pashtin. However, no human or material losses were reported. The police have opened an investigation into the incident.
