A massive landslide hit the Ghandlo area of Chilas on Tuesday, burying six passenger vehicles under tons of debris and trapping several people, officials said.
According to Gilgit-Baltistan government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq, some passengers remain stranded as rescue efforts continue.
An emergency was declared at Chilas Hospital, while Diamer Deputy Commissioner Attaur-Rehman Kakar ordered RHQ Hospital to take urgent measures to assist the victims.
Rescue teams of seven people and three vehicles were working at the site to clear debris and provide medical aid to those affected.
