Islamabad:
Pakistan, as well as 15 other countries, expressed concerns on Tuesday concern the security of Flotilla Global Sumud, in which their citizens participate to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in Gaza.
“The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Ireland, Libya, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain and Türkiye Ali Khan said in a press release.
He said the Global Sumud Flotilla informed of its objective of providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and aware of the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people and the need to stop war in Gaza.
“The two objectives, peace and the performance of humanitarian aid, as well as respect for international law, including humanitarian law, are shared by our governments. We therefore call on everyone to abstain from any illegal or violent act against the flotilla, to respect international law and international humanitarian law,” said Ambassador Khan.
He recalled that any violation of international law and human rights of the participants in the flotilla, including the attack on ships in international waters or illegal detention, would lead to responsibility.
