Islamabad:
The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) should convene a meeting to examine complaints against judges of the higher judiciary, sources said.
The meeting should be held in mid-October under the chairmanship of chief Yahya Afridi. The chief judge of the High Court of Islamabad, Sarfraz Dogar, was inducted as a member of the SJC.
The SJC is a judicial body of the higher judiciary, authorized under article 209 of the Constitution, to hear cases of misconduct against the judges.
In a recent observation, the Supreme Court judged that only the SJC could investigate the allegations of misconduct against judges.
