Sky glass air vs Sky Glass Gen 2
We reviewed the Sky Glass Gen 2 earlier this year and marked 4 in 5 stars, thanks to its improved brightness, a more efficient local gradation and the addition of game characteristics on its predecessor, Sky Glass Gen 1.
Sky glass air, however, seems to offer a cheaper alternative with a competitive level of features compared to his brother in height.
The two televisions use a QLED panel and support HDR10. For the game, the two sets operate at 4K, 60Hz and support the Low Low Low mode (Allm) and of course, the two Run Sky OS sets as their Smart TV platform.
But, the Sky Glass Gen 2 offers a Dolby Vision HDR support, used by some of the best televisions such as the LG C4 for a more dynamic image, as well as the 3.1.2 channel speaker system which supports Dolby Atmos, with an external sound bar housing the three front speakers.
The sky glass air, on the other hand, only offers HDR10, does not have the same local gradation in the panel for a strong contrast and is delivered with an integrated 2.0 speaker system, it will not have the same powerful sound. He also supports Dolby Audio, but not Atmos.
Sky Glass Air: Better to your money?
The main thing to look at here is the price difference. If we take, say, the cheapest payment option of 48 months with the 55 -inch model with Sky TV essential inclusive, you plan to pay £ 25 per month for the Sky Glass Air VS £ 34 per month for the Sky Glass Gen 2. It is a difference of £ 108 per year; Not an insignificant amount!
Paying in advance for televisions and the price difference becomes even higher. For the largest 65 -inch model, the Sky Glass Air costs £ 649 compared to £ 1 199 for the Sky Glass 65 inch Gen 2: a massive gap of £ 550!
Although the air in sky glass can sacrifice certain characteristics, it has the potential to be better value than his brother in height if you are not obsessed with the quality of the absolutely high level image. The air can miss the best integrated audio system, but with £ 550 saved, you can get one of the best sound bars instead and have a lot of change.
