- Slack is the last software continuation to obtain a huge reduction in the US government
- Slack Enterprise Grid will cost 90% less, 70% less for the additional AI module
- Adobe, Google and Microsoft also offered discounts
Trump’s efforts to centralize the US government’s IT expenses and to reduce costs, driven by the Elon Musk Ministry of Government Effective Effectiveness (DOGE), seems to work, because Slack is only the last of a growing list of companies seeking to earn government contracts by offering heavy reductions.
Salesforce confirmed that he would offer Slack Enterprise Grid to American federal agencies with a significant reduction of 90%, with IA Slack for the company also on cards for government customers with a discount of almost 70%.
The US General Services Administration (GSA) confirmed that the agreement would be honored until November 30, 2025.
Slack to offer 90% reduction to American federal agencies
“Under OneGov, Salesforce is the last company to provide prices and others are expected this year,” noted the GSA.
The federal commissioner on the GSA acquisition services, Josh Gruenbaum, explained: “The private sector knows first -hand by the Onegov initiative that President Trump’s GSA is committed to being a good partner while we are working together to deliver the best tools for the government at the best value for taxpayers.”
The government was previously eligible for significant discounts between several agencies, but by centralizing the acquisition of software, the United States now has even more purchasing power, unlocking serious discounts.
“This unified model reflects the central role of the GSA in the supply, the maximization of cost economies, the reduction in redundancy and the rationalization of acquisition with prices and consistent terms through the federal government,” added GSA.
Part of a broader thrust under the executive decree of President Trump to consolidate purchases, the slack belonging to Salesforce is only one of the many software agreements presented to the United States government. Adobe, Google and Microsoft also offered healthy savings to the Trump government.
In addition to saving costs for the American taxpayer, the broader effort also plays in the technological transformation of the United States, in the hope that appropriate and effective tools could considerably improve efficiency, rationalize operations and remove operational ineffectiveness.
“Associated with the Robust Ecosystem of Salesforce, data processes and AI agents, Slack allows government agencies to improve productivity and provide citizens -oriented results,” added the president of the public sector of Salesforce, Dave Rey.
