Solana’s Seeker phone fixes the saga defects with upgrading of usability

The Solana Seeker phone is not your average smartphone, and it doesn’t want to be. Drawing on the lessons of its predecessor, the saga, the last device of Solana Mobile, reinstalls what a crypto-native phone can be. Smaller, lighter and boosting a more durable battery compared to its predecessor, the researcher aims to improve the user experience while doubled its conviviality by crypto-axed on mobile.

Outside the box, it is clear to who serves this device: Active Solana users who regularly translate the chain, with the design focused on everything that is cryptocurrency. With 150,000 pre -ordered phones from more than 50 countries, and at a price of $ 500, the researcher wants to bring participants to the Solana ecosystem the ability to transform into a trip in a few seconds.

If you are someone who frequently uses Solana, the researcher may have the impression of having been built specifically for you. However, this phone is not intended for the user of occasional cryptography.

“If you are someone who makes transactions at least once a week, frankly, then you may not be a complete power user, but you are at least a sufficiently regular user that the researcher makes sense,” Emmett Hollyer, the director general of Solana Mobile, told Coindesk in an interview.

One of the greatest criticisms of the saga was that it had gone a little too far by focusing on the safety aspect at the expense of ease of use. “We have learned that we were so concentrated in the creation of a secure experience the first time that we have sort of released in our way with conviviality,” said Hollyer.

Security is still there; Each device acts as a chain portfolio, but the transaction signature process has been considerably rationalized. Now, with a single click and a verification of fingerprints, a user may approve a transaction, marking a notable change compared to the multiple stages required, which makes trading in Go much more natural.

Features

According to a shared slide by Solana Mobile, the Seeker phone is delivered with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB for storage, a 6.36 inch screen and a 4,500 mAh battery, which should be sufficient to place it somewhere between an iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus on paper in terms of size.

He uses an octa-core mediatek Dimensity 7300 processor, which is a little less powerful than a flagship phone from Apple or Samsung but is largely in accordance with the Exynos 1580, the chip feeding the A56 smartphone from the Samsung range. The phone works on Android 15.

An exam device does not have Come with a headphone jack and an SD card slot for extensible storage.

The device also has four cameras; Three at the rear (main camera of 108 megapixels with optical image stabilization, a 50 MP telephoto lens sensor and an ultra-width of 13 MP) and one at the front (32 MP).

  • Complete specifications:

Safe portfolio, id, token

At the heart of the researcher is the safe, which protects your private cryptography keys with encryption and biometric access. The Solana Mobile seed portfolio, which is integrated into the Seed safe and acts as Apple Pay, allowing users to approve and check their transactions. And like Apple Pay, it has a Tap-to-Pay function.

“He does everything that an ordinary crypto wallet is, including it allows you to connect [decentralized applications] DAPPS and access your funds anywhere. It is just built more native mobile, directly in the phone and the DAPPs in our store, “added Holler.

The portfolio supports all the main Dapps Solana and is delivered with a sentence of recovery seeds, just like the other cold wallets. This continuity with the material experience of cryptography ensures that users keep the self-leather, even if they lose the device.

Beyond the equipment, the phone goes to bed on a new type of digital identity. During the configuration, each user receives a Genesis token and a single researcher ID, permanently linking the device to the user.

The phone will also have a unique SKR token, a new token for the ecosystem that is not yet live. Although the developers of the project have not yet shared a lot of details on the operation of the token, the team wrote that it “would feed the economy, the incentives and the property of the ecosystem”.

User experience

Although I am faithful to my iPhone, the researcher felt fairly easy to navigate for those who are not used to an Android device. Saving applications was seamless without an awkward experience. The phone has capacity to download consumer applications from the Google App Store, and can allow cellular connection (this phone is not delivered with a SIM).

Although I cannot fully test mobile connectivity, the interface was surprisingly smooth and reactive, without significant offsets or hiccups of awkward user interface. For anyone who hesitates to change ecosystems, the researcher offers a sufficiently familiar experience that does not let you lose.

Researcher season to come in September

To bring participants to actively use the aircraft, the Solana Mobile is gaining momentum throughout its researchers, by launching in September, which, according to the developers, will provide exclusive features, early access and DAPP benefits participating in the ecosystem of the Solana DAPP store.

“Each week, the new DAPPs will have special experiences, early access and advantages that you will only find in the Solana Dapp store”, according to a game of slides shared by the team. These exclusives provide incentives to the early adoption of the phone.

Sales of the original saga phone were slow at the start, until crypto traders discover that each device was delivered with a heavy aerial platform of Bonk token, triggering precipitation to buy remaining units and transform the phone into a brief arbitration opportunity.

The Solana Seeker is an ambitious and thoughtful reimagination of what should be an experience of Mobile Crypto. It is not only more compact and user-friendly, it is designed to bring auto-pattydia in daily life with a minimum of friction. When Saga tried to prove a point, Seeker invites users to participate.
