- Siri would have more AI later this year
- It is not clear if all delayed features will be added
- Deeper applications are based to appear
Apple set out to enter Siri and Apple Intelligence, with upgrades promised to have now officially delayed and the company which has criticized many criticisms – but at least some of these delayed features could make an appearance later this year.
In a New York Times article, summarizing some of the recent Apple IA problems, including internal friction on the future levels, it is mentioned that Siri would obtain certain “autumn” upgrades in the United States – therefore probably in September, with the iPhone 17 and iOS 19.
“Apple did not cancel its reworked Siri,” said the article. “The company plans to publish a virtual assistant in the fall capable of doing things such as edition and sending a photo to a friend on request, three people have known their plans.”
Isn’t it much to go-do we simply get additional photo editing capacities, or the full suite of delayed features? In the end, Apple wants to obtain Siri on par with Chatgpt or Gemini, but this may not happen in 2025.
Delayed characteristics
The photo retouching function mentioned in the NYT article is one of the Apple Intelligence upgrades promised in 2024: the possibility for Siri to dig more deeply in iPhone applications and take measures for users via voice commands (called application intentions).
It’s just part of the image. Apple also said that Siri will become much smarter in terms of context, understanding more what’s going on on your iPhone and more on you (by pressing some of your personal data, in a private and secure manner).
Once Siri has obtained these features, he will be able to compete with his Chatbot AI rivals. This week, for example, Chatgpt added a memory upgrade which means that it can exploit your complete conversation history for the responses, if necessary.
Apple Intelligence’s features already added to Siri include the management of a more natural language in conversations, and improving the management of your devices technology. As for iOS 19, expect to find out more about updating the software in early June.
