- The images seem to confirm the tilTable EVF and the complete 33MP sensor
- The 4K 60FPS video will require a harvest in Super 35 format
- $ 3,500 in rumor and floating 32 -bit floating audio still TBC
Sony launches a new camera without movie line mirror later during the day – but a set of disclosed photographs seems to have overturned the beans and spoiled the surprise a few hours earlier.
Published by Sony Alpha Rumeurs, the four images show the alleged Sony FX2, an electronic camera with a complete video mount. Three of the photos are promotional lifestyles showing the camera in action, while the fourth and most interesting is filled with high -end information on features and specifications.
As rumor already says, the Sony FX2 seems ready to wear the same Exmor R CMOS 33MP sensor as that previously in the A7 IV and A7C II cameras of the company. It will apparently support the double native ISO (800 and 4000) and video capture up to 4k 60fps in 10 bit 4: 2: 2 with more than 15 dynamic beach stops.
Although this 4K 60FPS recording is only supported in Super 35 format, which means that it will be forcefully cropped rather than using the entire surface of this huge sensor. This is likely to disappoint certain videographers.

What about 32-bit floating recording?
To watch
The image also seems to confirm the previously mentioned electronic viewfinder (EVF); It is also shown in one of the lifestyle shots.
The FX2 will also support the 16 -bit gross release via its HDMI, will have an active cooling system to combat overheating problems and a Venice user interface which is launched towards videography rather than photos. There is no mention of the 32 -bit floating audio recording here, which is another feature that we heard will be included.
Thus, while the 4K 60FPS cropped is not what many users would have hoped, the FX2 promises to be a very well equipped camera for content creators and youtubers. Many will depend on the price, of course. $ 3,500 is the RRP rumor (which converts to around £ 2,600 / $ 5,400 in), which seems quite steep for a cinema camera that surmounts at 4K.
For the moment, all of the above remains not confirmed by Sony, but not long ago to wait for the official launch. This happens later today May 28, 2025, at 3 p.m. BST / 4 p.m. CET. You can look at the live disclosure on YouTube (above).
We will report on the Sony FX2 once everything is official and we have all the details on specifications, functionalities and prices.
