Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham will miss the rest of the 2025 WNBA season after undergoing a right knee injury on Sunday against Connecticut Sun.
Cunningham was to be helped out of the field in the second quarter after the Bria Hartley of the Sun climbed in her right leg. Cunningham immediately hung her knee while she stayed on hardwood. After being assessed by coaches, she was helped in the locker room.
The fever announced Tuesday that Cunningham should recover completely, although they did not specify the exact nature of the injury.

Cunningham was injured while he intensified to provide an additional defense in the painting. While Hartley turned the ball at Lexie Hull, she lost her foot and fell directly into the right leg of Cunningham.

The fever also announced on August 8 that the guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald were excluded for the rest of the season. Colson tore his left ACL, while McDonald underwent a broken bone in his right foot.
