Diogo Jota, the Liverpool star, who died with her brother in a car accident last week, traveled above the speed limit, authorities said on Tuesday.

The Spanish Civil Guard’s investigation is still underway, but they said their conviction was that Jota was driving too quickly to his Lamborghini before an explosion of tires, forcing the car off course.

The investigation also led to believing that Jota was the one who was driving. There was no indication of the police who were driving, Jota or André Silva.
