Special instructions were issued for fans participating in the next match of the Champions Trophy at the Gaddafi stadium, Express News reported.
The international event, organized by Pakistan, will present a match between England and Australia at the stadium. Complete traffic and security agreements have been finalized and officially announced.
According to Lahore traffic director (CTO), more than 1,000 traffic police members will be on duty during the match.
He assured that there will be no tolerance for bad parking, and 20 forklifts and 4 broken vehicles will be on standby to manage any violation.
As part of the parking plan, defense spectators will park at the CBD by taking a left turn from the central point on the tree market.
Those who arrive via Ferozepur Road will park near the Government College Gulberg after having passed from Kalma Chowk to the National Park.
Fans of the defense and cant regions will park in Liberty Park after having taken routes from Hussain Chowk or Sherpao Bridge via Boulevard Main Gulberg.
The traffic authorities have confirmed that no road would be closed permanently, and all the roads, notably Mall Road, Jail Road and Canal Road, will remain open. Ferozepur Road and Main Boulevard Gulberg will also continue a normal traffic flow.
Authorities urge the spectators to refrain from park in unauthorized areas and to park only in designated parking spaces. The public will be informed of traffic conditions via the Rasta and Rasta FM 88.6 application.
In parallel, Punjab police published their security plan for the event. Ig Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, ordered that adequate security measures be taken to ensure the safety of players, officials and spectators.
An increased security presence will monitor all routes, the surroundings of the stadium and large buildings, with elite shooters deployed for additional protection.
More than 12,000 police and officials will be stationed during the match. Specialized units such as the Dolphin Squad, the police response unit and the elite teams will patrol key locations. In addition, the City of the City sure will monitor all the routes and critical areas during the event.
