Rapper Soulja Boy will no longer perform on stand with the Crypto “Get Out the Voting” event in Jersey City next week due to a court that deemed him responsible for battery and sexual assault, a spokesperson said on Thursday.
Soulja Boy, otherwise known as Deandre Cortez Way, and 070 Shake, otherwise known as Danielle Balbuena, had to lead the event on June 5, who was to bring crypto fans a few weeks before the residents of New Jersey went to the polls to choose their nomines for the Governor’s Governor’s race, announced Crypto on Wednesday.
The president of the crypto section of the New Jersey, Carlos Merino, said in a press release that “this GOTV rally is another stand example with Crypto’s commitment to mobilize the cryptographic community before the critical primary elections of the New Jersey Gubernatorial”.
However, Way will no longer perform after Politico reported Thursday morning that he had recently been ordered to pay a former $ 4 million assistant after being found responsible for sexual drums and assault.
An external Stand with Crypto spokesman said in a statement that the organization was “not aware of the recent legal developments involving Soulja Boy”.
“Given this information, we have removed it from our range of events. 070 Shake will always occur during our June 5 rally and we are impatient to bring together the cryptographic community of New Jersey to demonstrate the political power of cryptographic voters before the governor’s primary,” said the press release.
“Our objective remains on the mobilization of supporters of cryptography and on the fact that candidates understand that clear and sensible crypto policy is a priority for voters of New Jersey.”
The trial against Way dates back to 2021, although the jury’s decision only came last month. Way said he would appeal the decision, according to the courthouse News Service.
Way also played “Crypto Ball”, an inauguration event sponsored by Maga Inc. and Bitcoin Inc., as well as Crypto.com, Exodus, Digital Anchorage and Kraken in January.
