A rivalry has been renewed.
Philadelphia will welcome the NFC championship match between the Eagles and the Washington commanders on Sunday.
Before the match, the famous Rocky statue in the city center of Philadelphia was dressed in equipment representing the old identity of the commanders, the Redskins.

Dressing the statue with the equipment of the opposing teams has become a tradition in recent years before the major eliminatory matches of the Eagles. Whenever it happened, the Eagles left with victories.
In 2022, the statue was dressed with the equipment of the New York giants before their match against the Eagles in the round of division. The Eagles won this 38-7 match. The following week, the statue was dressed with the equipment of the 49ers of San Francisco before the arrival of the Niners in Philadelphia for the NFC championship match. The Eagles won this match 31-7.

When the Eagles won their first Super Bowl in the 2017 season, the statue was also dressed with the equipment of the opposing teams.
