Adapted for television by JJ Abrams, the eight-episode limited series is being developed for television by Bridget Carpenter with King, Abrams, Carpenter and Bryan Burk serving as executive producers.
A Hulu original series premiered on the platform on February 15, 2016.

The miniseries mixes science fiction, thriller, history and drama. The story follows Jake Epping, a high school English teacher who gets the chance to travel back in time through a mysterious portal in a restaurant.
His mission: to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, which constitutes one of the most significant events in the history of the United States.
As Jake establishes himself in the early 1960s, he assumes a new identity, navigates the past, and forms unexpected emotional connections.
However, changing history never works in his favor and he soon realizes far more complications than he imagined.
