Strong winds in Karachi have significantly increased the intensity of cold in the city.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the minimum temperature recorded today was 10.5°C.

However, the temperature is expected to fluctuate between 9°C and 11°C in the coming days.

The PMD forecasts that the weather in Karachi will remain cold and dry over the next 24 hours, with intermittent strong winds expected to persist.

Northeast winds blow through the city at a speed of 20 km/h and the air humidity is 65%.

On Sunday, the port city experienced one of the coldest mornings of the season, with the minimum temperature dropping to 9.8°C.

The PMD said the city could face even colder conditions as northwesterly winds are expected to reduce temperatures further.

The minimum mercury level could reach 9°C today, making the cold worse.

The maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to peak at 28°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 9°C.

Light fog also affected visibility, reducing it to just three kilometers. Northeast winds blow at speeds of 5 to 20 km/h, contributing to cold and dry conditions.

A notable drop in temperatures occurred overnight, with a minimum temperature recorded at 12°C on Saturday.

Karachiites have been advised to prepare for even colder mornings as the winter chill intensifies, with stronger winds contributing to the drop in temperatures.
