Submission delays draw ire of top FCC judge

.

ISLAMABAD:

Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan on Tuesday observed that lawyers were taking too long to present their arguments in the super-tax case, forcing the court to set a clear timetable.

The case was heard by a three-member bench headed by FCC Chief Justice and comprising Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Syed Arshad Hussain Shah.

During the hearing, counsel for various companies, Owais Ali Shah, appeared before the court and concluded his arguments. He argued that the imposition of super tax after payment of final tax was beyond belief.
