Until now, Linux users could only use Surfshark’s dedicated IP address through a browser extension, which limited how the feature could be used across the entire operating system.
The update builds on Surfshark’s dedicated IP push, which began in 2023. The dedicated IP rollout expanded significantly throughout 2025, increasing the number of locations and expanding support for the platform, which now also includes the Linux VPN app.
